Here are my designs
I've been working on it in my spare time. Submitting an uncolored version because I'm afraid I won't be able to color it all in time, so this way at least I'll meet the deadline.
I sent Chris a theme and title but it changed with the mood that I felt afterwards.
Title: I am...
Theme: Ethnic America (Fall 2006)
Inspiration: pirates, lamp shades, acorns, maple leaves, Egyptian jewelry, Asian costumes, belly dancers
As you can tell, fabrics are made of natural fibers. Though easily substituted for synthetic fabrics, I felt that only these natural fibers can truly capture the rawness of my designs. I love having very distinct ethnic influences in my designs and have always tried to carry out these ideas through my designs. I hoped to use warm colors brought in from maple leaves, acorns, precious stones such as amber and jade, with splashes of raspberry, mint, and the sky. If I had colored my illustrations I could present a flurry of textile prints that are very fun and exciting but calming to the viewers eyes as Autumn is not a time to feel hectic or rushed. I am truly proud of the work I have done with these final designs for my collection.
Being a part of Project Designer has made me improve my skills, be aware of what I need to improve, and help guide me to a successful path of finding my true style. Thank you for the love and support from everyone I have met through this contest. Thank you to those who helped me out through my rough beginnings and those who always critiqued my work. Those who loved and favorited them, I'd love to thank you as well, for without you I wouldn't have the motivation to keep on competing.
First 4: Day - For a day out in the city
Second 4: Night - For a stylish appearance to a club and party
Last: Final Gown
This collection is dedicated to ~melancholycreations for being a role model to me. You are a fabulous designer, artist, and friend. Wishing you the best of everything. Take care of yourself. dA misses you.
Wow! Your so good! How Did you learn to draw the fashion figures like that?! I've been trying to draw them but they always turn out looking horrid. Your so Good!
My god, this is fantastic! I love the drapery. The third one on the right is my absolute favorite - I love the grass (I suppose it's grass, since you said natural fabrics?) on the shorts.
